'She just needs to feel safe': 42-year-old woman rescues goofy German Shepherd pup who was abandoned after giving birth and helps the sweet soul find a furrever home

What's really crazy is that some people pay thousands of dollars for purebred dogs. The current price for a golden retriever puppy is anywhere from $1000 to $4000. That's an investment! And for how many stories we see of doggos being abandoned (like the beautiful baby below), we think that people are just not very good at managing their money. Firstly, we would never leave a pupper to fend for themselves, and especially not if we paid $4000 for it. We still eat all the food on our plate because we don't want it to go to waste. 

But people do, and they probably have bigger problems than money if they are willing to do something so terrible to such a sweet soul. This goofy German Shepherd was found by a wholesome woman all alone, and she even took days off from work in order to help her. She saved her from a future where she might not have survived, and she's actively working to get her to a family that will love her. Before scrolling down, please give her a big round of appaws. May her traffic lights always be green and her bananas always pawfectly ripe.

    can, I know with her fear reactiveness, she would get hanised after the stray hold. They can't guarantee that I'd be able to adopt her or facilitate her going to a rescue, which is a chance I wouldn't take.

  • Fear reactivity can be tough, but not impawssible. It will take time, for sure, but the ones that are fearful are usually the sweetest. Our little girl is the cutest, most adorable baby at home. She buries her face in our chest when we come home and flops on top of us, asking for belly rubs. Outside, we have to pay attention to her surroundings and always be aware of potential triggers, but if you are vigilant, you can succeed.

    After finding out that I can pay for the vet care visit to be compliant with the stray hold at a vet in my county, I opted to do that and worked it out with my dogs' vet that they do the stray hold with me being her emergency foster so she's at my house rather than being boarded.

    After the stray hold if unclaimed, she's free to go to a rescue. The problem is that I am unable to emergency foster her any longer than Sunday. I took off a few days last week to try to find a more long term solution for her, but I absolutely have to go back to work on Monday.

    I have a ton of feelers out with rescues, have found dog posts on social media, but nothing concrete. She's not chipped, she's not spayed, and I believe that she was dumped after possibly having a litter.

    I'm willing to donate for her care to a rescue, I just need somewhere for her to go. As far as her personality, she's a typical goofy a, sweet, and Velcro shepherd. She's young so she's quite playful and sloppy. She is fear reactive, especially with men, but she took to me (42 F) quite quickly so I know that she just needs to feel safe.

  • She does have a very triangle-y face, and it is indeed very cute! She looks pawfectly derpy, which is just how we love our German Shepherds. We love when they look intimidating and mean, but are actually just goofy and snuggly. We want to adopt her!
